| Unless you get a bike or something with insanly good milage, or you drive a TON. Spend $500 on a car, $xxx on insurance and tag per year. Total that up, and figure what the price difference is per fil up between 87 and 93. In my town premium is only about 15cents more. So lets assume an abritary tank size of 20 gals per fill up. 20 * .15 = $3. So just to cover the $500 one time cost of the car you'll have to fill up 166 times saving $3 per fill up. Now lets assume you get 20mpg, So 20mpg * 20 gal is 400miles. 400 miles * 166 gas tanks = 66,400miles. After doing the math, I don't see it worth it to go out and buy an extra car just to run lower octane gas at this point in time.
